Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We spent it at home together.  Everyone helped make the feast and it was all delicious.  We watched the Thanksgiving Parade on TV and perused the Black Friday ads while everything was cooking.  It was a fun and relaxing day.  We have so much to be thankful for.

I sure am thankful for these 5 cute people and their wonderful father.  My life wouldn't be the same without them.  They are all the best things to ever happen to me!

Gift of Lights

We have heard about the Gift of Lights show at the Texas Motor Speedway and decided to do it this year.  It was different than we expected but lots of fun.  There were over 600 light displays that you drive past or through as you go under the stands and around the Texas Motor Speedway.  They had everything from the manger scene, Santa Clause, patriotic lights, and of course plenty of lights showing off our Texas pride!  Our favorite part was towards the end when we drove through a light tunnel.  Pretty cool.

November Activities

A few fun happenings in November:

 The kids made turkeys out of paint samples.  I originally picked up some samples for Halloween crafts but that never happened.  So turkeys they were instead!

We actually got an early freeze this Fall and it made all of the trees so pretty!

 Now THAT is a serious blanket fort!  It stretches from one end of the family room to the other!

Of course they had to sleep in it!  A great way to start Thanksgiving Break!

Scouting Adventures

Dallin and Austin love scouts.  They've had some fun adventures already this month.

November 2

Dallin and his Bear den went on a nature hike at the Bob Jones Nature Center.

They each had a sack to collect leaves and rocks to fulfill some of their requirements.

Coen, Claire, and Beckham got to come along since I'm a leader, it was a Saturday, and Tory and Austin were off doing a scout thing for Austin.  They didn't mind one bit!

 It was a pretty place with lots of nature trails.

Our family hasn't ever been before and it's so close!

Always finding fun things to do around here even 8 years later!

 November 2

Austin got to volunteer at the Color In Motion race to earn money for scout camp.

He was stationed at the BLUE station.

November 8-9

Austin also went camping and rock climbing/repelling with his scout group.

Another run.  Austin absolutely loved it!  Tory was able to go on the trip with him and they really enjoyed it.
